FACIAL IMPLANTS
A lot of chin concerns do have congenital craniofacial causes and as a fully trained Plastic Surgeon Dr Jack Zoumaras is in a unique position to appropriately assess the chin and its craniofacial relationship with the nose and offer professional advice on management. Often a simple chin augmentation is required for facial harmony. In some circumstances more extensive surgery involving fracturing and moving the lower mandible/chin is required.

Chin Implants surgery procedure:
Through either an intra-oral or submental incision an implant is introduced to augment the chin. The implant is made of either solid silicone or porous polyethylene (Medpor).
Chin Implants are performed for the following reasons:
- A recessive chin
- Small chin
- As part of a balancing facial procedure
- As part of a Rhinoplasty procedure
Common Concerns
The procedure will be illustrated in detail and you will be given a detailed instruction sheet on expected post-operative course and potential complications during your consultation with Dr Jack Zoumaras. It is recommended that you are a stable weight for at least 3-6 months to obtain the best possible results. It is advised to stop smoking at least 6 weeks before and after surgery
