Thigh Lift Surgery
A thigh lift lifts the inner or outer thighs to give a better contour and appearance in keeping with an ideal body shape.
With aging or changes in weight, skin around the thighs begins to droop and lose elasticity and fat begins to accumulate. Liposuction can be used to contour the thighs but once the skin loses elasticity and there is excess droop the only way to correct the deformity is with surgery to remove excess skin and fat.
A thigh lift may be combined with an Abdominoplasty or Body Lift.
What can be achieved?
At Artiste Plastic Surgery a Thigh Lift is performed for the following reasons:
- As an adjunct to other body contouring procedures
- Where liposuction alone will not get rid of excess sagging skin
- To obtain an aesthetically pleasing inner or outer thigh area in keeping with an ideal body shape.
Thigh Lift Surgery Techniques
Outer thigh surgery involves placing incisions in natural skin creases laterally and removing excess skin and fat, lifting the thighs to a higher appealing position. This often is part of an extended tummy tuck.
An inconspicuous incision in the groin is used to lift the skin and remove excess fat from the medial thigh giving an aesthetic appearance to the upper legs. A vertical incision is used where there is a significant amount of skin and fat excess.
The procedure will be illustrated in detail and you will be given a detailed instruction sheet on expected post-operative course and potential complications during your consultation with Dr Jack Zoumaras.
It is recommended that you are a stable weight for at least 3-6 months to obtain the best possible results. It is advised to stop smoking at least 6 weeks before and after surgery
