Brazilian Butt Lift Surgery

An illustrious butt is becoming an increasingly common request in the world of plastic surgery. It isn’t surprising that the trend of a larger, more shapely backside has spiked in popularity due to being glamorised by many celebrities. However, getting the butt you desire isn’t always as easy as incorporating exercises such as lunges into your daily routine. Even with vigorous effort, achieving a voluminous, elegant derrière may only be a possibility through surgery. A buttock lift is a procedure designed to increase the size and/or improve the shape of the buttocks. With several techniques available, buttock lift surgery can help you achieve the butt you’ve always wanted.

Achieved With a Buttock Lift

Defined, Shapely Buttocks

A buttock lift is performed to enhance the natural curves of the buttocks. Dr Zoumaras employs the most advanced buttock lift techniques uniquely designed for the individual patient. He can create attractive contours by augmenting and lifting the buttocks into a more youthful position. The buttocks will look more defined and shaped, providing a beautiful, more attractive backside.

Improved Body Contours

When improving the appearance of one area of the body, it often enhances other contours of the physique. Once the buttocks are augmented, the other body features can transform into more eye-catching curves. Many patients will notice a significant improvement in the entire look of the body, including the waist and lower torso.

Increased Confidence

Many people who are insecure about the appearance of their buttocks feel uncomfortable wearing certain clothing such as short shorts, bikini bottoms, and skirts. Once the buttocks are shaped and lifted into a more flattering and youthful position, patients can feel confident in showing off their new curves and wearing fashions that are designed to accentuate the backside.

The Procedure

Brazilian Butt Lift

  • “Moving unwanted fat to the buttocks.”
  • Fat is obtained from fibrous areas of the body (typically the abdomen, hips, thighs, or love handles) using liposuction.
  • The harvested fat is cleaned and purified before being placed into syringes.
  • The fat is strategically injected from the syringes into the buttocks to add volume and enhance the shape of the butt.

Buttock Lift With Implants

  • Silicone implants are inserted below the fascia of the buttock muscle.
  • Incisions may be made along the upper buttocks, along the gluteal creases beneath the butt, or down the center of the sacrum (the crease between the buttocks).
  • Lifting of the buttocks tissue may also be performed, if needed.

Traditional Buttock Lift

  • The skin is lifted, and excess fat and tissue are removed through a carefully placed incision.
  • Excess skin is trimmed, and the remaining skin is redraped over the gluteals to correct sagging below the buttock cheeks.
  • Liposuction can be used to remove excess fat to provide an overall more contoured look.
  • Fat transfer can also be used to enhance the buttock (Combined Brazilian Buttock Lift)

Addressing Any Concerns You May Have

A support garment is worn for two to three weeks to help ease swelling and to maintain the shape of the buttocks. There will be some swelling and bruising that should alleviate over the next few weeks. Some patients have residual swelling for up to three months. Patients are asked to avoid sitting on the buttocks for prolonged periods. It is especially important to refrain from putting pressure on the buttocks after the “Brazilian Butt Lift” to prevent any damage to the fat until it becomes incorporated into the existing tissues.

Depending on the technique, scarring will be located in variable areas. Typically, Dr Zoumaras will create incisions that are small and inconspicuous. Any visible scarring will become less noticeable over time.

Dr Zoumaras offers customisable buttock lift procedures. Depending on the patient’s surgery plan and the extent of the procedure, the cost of surgery will vary. The price will also include any hospital fees, anaesthesia fees, or any other surgery-related expenses.

Some discomfort and pain are normal following the procedure. For the first few weeks, you should expect some soreness and swelling. Prescribed pain medication can be used to minimise any discomfort.

A good candidate for a buttock lift is someone who would like to change the size or shape of their buttocks. It is important that patients are in good health, have realistic expectations, and have maintained a stable weight for at least three to six months. Patients should refrain from smoking for at least two weeks before and after surgery.

No; after surgery, you will be able to return home. It is important you have a designated person to drive you to and from the hospital and care for you for a few days after your surgery.

The results from a buttock lift are meant to be permanent; however, patients should maintain a healthy diet and exercise regularly to maintain results. Any weight fluctuations can modify the original results from surgery.

As with any surgery, there are some risks involved with a buttock lift. Some potential complications include:

  • Infection
  • Bleeding
  • Bruising
  • Numbness and pain
  • Firmness
  • Implant rupture (buttock augmentation with implants)
  • Fat embolism (Brazilian Butt Lift)
  • Asymmetry
  • Stretch marks

Liposuction is frequently used in conjunction with a buttock lift to enhance and provide optimal contouring results. Many patients also undergo other body contouring procedures along with a buttock lift, such as tummy tuck surgery, body lift surgery, thigh lift surgery, labiaplasty, and arm reduction surgery.
