Nipple Inversion Correction
The nipple forms the focal point of the breast mound and together with the areolar complex forms an integral part to the aesthetics of the female breast. Nipple-areolar size can be adjusted with surgery and this may be combined with augmentation surgery to keep the scar to a minimum. Inverted nipples may affect both nipples and may occur after breast-feeding this can be corrected with non-surgical and surgical measures.
At Artiste Plastic Surgery Nipple Correction is performed for the following reasons.
- Inverted Nipples
- Large Nipple Areolar-Complex (NAC)
- Post Breast surgery
- As part of a breast reconstruction post mastectomy
An “inverted nipple” can be treated with suction devices or a nipple ring.
In most cases an “inverted nipple” requires a small operation to correct.
In the cases of a large NAC, a breast lift with or without breast implant can be performed while reducing the size of the NAC.
The procedure will be illustrated in detail and you will be given a detailed instruction sheet on expected post-operative course and potential complications during your consultation with Dr Jack Zoumaras.
It is recommended that you are a stable weight for at least 3-6 months to obtain the best possible results.
It is advised to stop smoking at least 6 weeks before and after surgery.
