What can be achieved?

Yesterdays Fillers

Consisted of liquid silicone, wax and animal collagen. Due to many documented problems with these older fillers they have been abandoned for newer safer ones with a better benefit to side effect profile. While collagen may still be used it involves a series of pre-injection testing to ensure you don’t react to the animal product.

Todays Injections

Are made up of synthetically produced sugars, which are naturally present in joints and the deeper layers of our skin and tissue. These sugars are made with variations in cross linkage to give products of differing consistency. This enables fine or deep wrinkles to be addressed and volume restoration possible.

Fillers are injected by Dr Jack Zoumaras to rejuvenate and revitalize the face. The dermal fillers can be used to fill wrinkles, replace the volume lost with facial aging, improve facial angles and augment the lips.

At Artiste Plastic Surgery Injections are used in the following areas:

  • Fine wrinkles around the eye or mouth
  • Deeper wrinkle in the naso-labial fold or forehead
  • To augment the Chin
  • To augment the Lips
  • To augment the Cheek
  • To fill in contour defects anywhere in the face

Yes, as a Plastic Surgeon Dr. Jack Zoumaras will advise what is the appropriate amount of filler and our goal at Artiste Plastic Surgery is for facial rejuvenation that is natural and not overdone.

Hyalournidase is an enzyme that breaks down hyaluronic acid. This can be used to dissolve fillers used in the face.

Filler injections have minimal side effects that are related to the actual injections. They include bleeding, bruising and itching.

Depending upon the type of filler used, the filler may last from 6 months to 18 months.

There is some discomfort associated with the use of needles to inject the filler. Local anaesthetic combined with the filler will reduce the pain associated with the injections.
