Nose job surgery is considered to produce long-lasting or permanent results. However, certain factors can influence changes in your nose over the years:

• Natural ageing process – like other facial features, the nose is prone to ageing resulting in the nose eventually drooping, stretching or changing shape. 
• Genetics – the shape and characteristics of your nose are based on your genes. Changes in your nose may vary depending on your genes and the thickness of the skin on your nose.
• Injury or trauma to the nose – when you experience trauma or injury to the face, and the impact is severe, the nasal bones can be displaced and some may consider  revision rhinoplasty.
• Surgical techniques – techniques used by your cosmetic surgeon  have an important impact in getting longer-lasting results. 

How to care for your Nose results over time?

You can’t completely ensure the quality of your nose job results over time—there are factors beyond your control, including how your body heals and natural changes due to ageing. 

While adhering to your surgeon’s preoperative and postoperative care instructions is essential, and choosing a qualified surgeon with the right experience matters, the idea that you can indefinitely “lengthen” or “enhance” rhinoplasty results is a misconception.

The bottomline: have realistic expectations. No surgery can fully halt the natural ageing process or guarantee any specific outcome. Communicate openly with your surgeon and have thorough pre-surgical discussions to approach this decision with confidence.
